Designed to help first-time campers feel at home & find their place
Starting sleepaway camp for the first time is a big step, and BLSA is built to make that transition feel comfortable from the start. With a small camp community of 60 girls, counselors and staff are able to give each camper personalized attention right away. They help girls settle into their bunk, get into the rhythm of the day, and begin forming connections with their peers.
Many campers arrive not knowing anyone, which helps create a shared starting point. Through time spent together in sports, daily routines, and downtime, friendships begin to take shape without pressure and carry into the school year and beyond.
It doesn’t take long before camp starts to feel like home. What felt new at first becomes part of the rhythm, and girls begin to feel comfortable, connected, and confident in their surroundings. They leave more independent and proud of what they’ve accomplished…and ready to start the countdown to next summer!
