Typical Day

There are 5 Activity Periods (plus meals) that comprise each day at the Brant Lake Sports Academy - most offering some degree of choice and the ability to customize a camper's program to best suit her individual interests. As a result, a camper-athlete has the option to determine how intensive, or not, her sports program will be.

Basketball GameEach morning includes one or two Instructional Clinics in our Core Sports of Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse and Volleyball. A 'Major' sport of emphasis can be chosen to allow for extended concentration. Girls may also choose to take Strength and Fitness Training or one of our other Instructional Sports. Another period is devoted to  Personalized Sports Instruction, tennis lessons (with our pros) or Hobbies, which include a wide choice of activities such as arts & crafts, archery, mountain biking, climbing wall and golf - to mention just a few.

BLSA Girls in area 3After lunch and some free play time, it's down to the Waterfront to cool off and enjoy swimming, water basketball and many other water sports including water skiing/wake boarding, sailing, kayaking, canoeing or even fishing. These activities may include instruction and are always supervised by  Brant Lake's professional Waterfront staff and lifeguards. Girls may also choose to relax on the beach with friends, throw a Frisbee around or play in a game of beach volleyball.

Intramural Games are played later in the afternoon and represent the longest period of the day. These games are played in one of the Core Sports, plus the addition of softball, and are all competitive, officiated events run by the Coaches with scores and standings kept over the two week period. (Lacrosse is the only intramural game which is not mandatory to play.) Teams are balanced by the coaches and allow the girls real-time game experience to put into practice their new and developing skills.

FriendsAfter dinner, Evening Activities close out the day. They include socials with the boys camp, movies (both in camp and out), talent shows, group games, camp fires and late night snacks.
