Sports Academy Leadership

Co-Directors

Overseeing the day-to-day running of the Brant Lake Sports Academy, including the health and happiness of all the girls, will be two Co-Head Counselors with almost 20 years of experience at Brant Lake Camp between them. 

Rachel Kerchman

Rachel KerchmanKerch, as she is affectionately called, has been part of the Brant Lake Camp community each and every summer since 1997. Starting first as a young Brant Lake Dance camper, Kerch has proudly served as a junior counselor, counselor, Head Counselor, Assistant Director and Co-Director of both the Dance Camp and Sports Academy.


Kerch has held a Key Staff position here at Brant Lake for since 2005, and she loves creating fun filled summers for Brant Lakers! Whether she's running the Brant Lake Trivia Game, planning the social, leading the singing at our campfires or simply making the announcements in our Dining Hall, Kerch is a hands on Co-Director, actively earning her place among our group of extraordinary Brant Lake leaders.


Kerch holds a Bachelors degree in mathematics from Bucknell University and a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University. She currently teaches high school and middle school math at The Brearley School, an all-girls private school in Manhattan. Before coming to Brearley, Kerch taught High School math at a private school outside of Baltimore for four years where she also served as the Dean of the 10th Grade. Her experiences advising student athletes and student artists have been particularly useful here at Brant Lake Camp! 

 

 

Rachel Milim


Rachel's first visit to Brant Lake was at six months old and has been a part of the Brant Lake family ever since.

Rachel MilimRachel earned her BS in Sociology from Cornell University where she also excelled on the lacrosse Field. The team competed in the final four her junior year and was ranked as high as number three in the country. Rachel was named Captain of the team her senior year and was named to the All-Ivy and Regional All-America teams.

In high school, Rachel was a two-time captain of her varsity basketball team where she earned All-County honors and captained her Varsity lacrosse team as well, earning All-County and All-America honors.

For the last six years, Rachel has worked as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer taking on both adults and children as private clients. Rachel also taught fourth grade PE and coached tennis, swimming, basketball and lacrosse at The Dalton School.

Rachel's competitive edge has never left as she has completed marathons, triathlons and century rides. She is currently coaching middle school basketball and lacrosse at The Dalton School.

Rachel resides in New York City with her husband, Matt and two children, Ryan and Sam.
